Want to see some awesome parts of Bali with a group of fellow adventurers? Tim and I are back in Bali for 6 weeks, and we are organising a weekly adventure for anyone who wants to see more of the island. Come with us on a trip to different parts of Bali, and get to know some fellow travellers while you’re there.

Who can come?
The meetups are open to anyone who currently lives in or is travelling to Bali.
Anyone who likes a bit of adventure and wants to take fun trips with new people. You can come to as many as you like, and if you have any questions about fitness levels for hikes then ask them in the group chat.
What should I bring
Water, a little cash for entry fees, and your phone / camera are the essentials for any trip. Some trips may require towels, trainers etc – but we’ll let you know that beforehand in the group chat.
Do I need to drive a motorbike?
No. If you have a motorbike, then meet us at the meeting point on your bike .
If you don’t drive, we can book our favourite Bali driver Made (pronounced ‘Mah-day’) to bring you for the day. His fee is IDR800k for the day, and that cost would be split by the number of people who are in the car. Made can pick you up from your villa or hotel if you’re in Seminyak or Canggu. Otherwise, you would get a Grab taxi or the meeting point where the car would be waiting..
How much does it cost?
The trips are free to join, but everyone pays their own costs (local entry fees, lunch, gas, water).
If you want to travel by car instead of bike, the drivers rate is IDR800k – and that will be split between however many people are in the car (up to 6). Everyone can pay their share to him in cash on the day.
For Mount Batur, this is actually a tour as opposed to a meetup – and it costs IDR550k per person. This includes all transport, climbing costs, and breakfast. This goes directly to the tour company – and this one includes insurance.
Is the trip insured
The only trip that is insured – as it is with an external company – is the Mount Batur Trek.
The rest are just social meet-ups, and thus are not insured. We take no liability if anything happens – but we will recommend drivers if you can’t drive bikes, so do take advantage of that if you’re not confident on a bike! We want to keep you safe! Also, make sure you have travel insurance, we recommend SafetyWing and World Nomads!
Can I come to them all?
Sure! Come to as many as you like! Join the group chat to get updates on each trip.
I’m nervous to come alone
Most people are nervous to meet a new group of people! But the best way to build up your confidence is to do something that scares you. Every stranger is a friend you just haven’t met yet! So come along (you can message me first to say you’re nervous, so I can come say hi!).
Will there be meetups happening elsewhere in 2023?
YES! We will be in Bali until March 1st, then Thailand until the end of April – where we will most likely run more meetups. We’re heading back to Bali for 5 weeks after this, so we might keep the community going then!
You can join the StephMyLife Meetups Community group chat to keep up with meetups.
